据日本媒体报道，2020年7月24日东京奥运会组委会公布了奥运主题歌，该曲改编自1964年奥运会当时大受欢迎的歌曲《东京五轮音头》。
此次2020年东京奥运会主题歌邀请加山雄三、石川小百合、竹原和生献唱。《东京五轮音头》的曲调充满了日本传统民谣的韵味，歌词又添加了现代风格，传统与现代的碰撞为听众带来了奇妙的试听体验。
